1. Give A Hand Department (Child Sponsorship Program)
Help transform lives by supporting our child sponsorship efforts:
- Update child profiles and compile sponsor reports.
- Assist with child correspondence (letters, photos, updates).
- Support mentorship and recreational activities.
- Join home and school visits to assess and report on child welfare.
- Participate in Christian fellowships and uphold our values.
2. Educare Department (Nursery & Primary School)
Support foundational education for young learners:
- Assist teachers with lesson planning and classroom activities.
- Offer remedial support and language development.
- Organize school clubs and co-curricular activities.
- Support school events and supervise play/lunch breaks.
3. Health and Wellness (KCCU Medical Centre)
Join our efforts to promote health and wellness:
- Help with patient reception, records, and administration.
- Support health education and awareness campaigns.
- Assist with outreach clinics and hygiene promotion.
- Qualified volunteers may assist with basic medical procedures (under supervision).
4. Youth and Women Empowerment (Skills Centre)
Empower young people and women through skills and mentorship:
- Facilitate vocational training (e.g., tailoring, carpentry, etc).
- Teach entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and life skills.
- Mentor youth in personal growth and career readiness.
- Help track and evaluate training progress.
5. Farm Department (Food Crop & Animal Farming)
Contribute to sustainable food production:
- Engage in planting, weeding, and harvesting activities.
- Support agricultural training and community workshops.
- Help manage farm operations and market produce.

KCCU does not provide formal housing there is available at the Executive Director’s home 2.1 kilometres to the organisation. Volunteers must adhere to house rules and respect the host family.
You shall always have transport by car or some time you may get a boda boda to workplace
Local volunteers should arrange their own daily transport or lodging nearby.
You will always have 3 meals a day.
- Selected volunteers receive orientation on KCCU’s mission, conduct policies, and departmental operations.
- Department-specific training is provided before placement.
- Volunteers receive certificates or letters of recommendation after successful completion.
- Exit interviews are conducted for program improvement.
- Volunteers are matched with departments based on interests and expertise.
- Each is assigned a supervisor for guidance and performance monitoring.
Regular check-ins, feedback sessions, and report submissions are expected.
All volunteers must:
- Follow KCCU’s Code of Conduct and Child Protection Policy.
- Maintain respect, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Report any concerns to a supervisor or the Director.
- Uphold KCCU’s values: accountability, respect, honesty, and teamwork.
- Non-compliance may lead to reassignment, suspension, or termination.
